US Department of State Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said that the fact that the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) issuing a "Red Alert” for Iraqi Vice President Tarık el Haşimi and the stand which Turkey has taken in this regard is a matter which needs to be resolved between Turkey and Iraq.
Ms.Nuland was asked for the opinion of the US regarding Interpol's issuing a red alert for Haşimi and the reply of Turkey that they were not obliged to "Capture and return Haşimi” at the daily press conference.
Nuland said, "We believe that this subject is an issue which needs to be resolved between the governments of Iraq and Turkey”.

Regarding the issuance of a red alert by the Interpol for Iraqi Vice President Tarık Haşimi Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay said, ”We are a hospitable country. We are carefully following the developments in this situation. At the moment Tarık Haşimi is a guest in our country. We take care of our guests. Turkey is sensitive about hosting guests”.
Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay attended the inauguration of the AK Party district service building in Keskin district of Kırıkkale province answered questions made by journalists regarding the issuance of Interpol's ‘red alert' for Tarık Haşimi saying that distressing and unpleasant events were taking place in Iraq.
Beşir Atalay said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was following the developments in this matter diligently and continued by saying, ” We are a hospitable country. We are carefully following the developments in this situation. At the moment Tarık Haşimi is a guest in our country. We treat guests in Turkey as they should be treated. Turkey is sensitive about hosting guests. We maintain those sensitivities. We find contentment in hosting our guest.”
